maps through the ISSA, 1000 copies (18 x 24) for $1050 m/s Jim/Marcus

and Deb are working on getting the trail back to Coggon
?
Cedar Valley Nature Trail-we
are on a one year trial period with the CVNT to ride the from mile marker
13 to the county line. This is 13 miles of trail!! Doesn’t seem like
much but it is a start. There are some restrictions, no loud pipes, at
least 6inches of snow, they have to be added to our insurance policy, I
believe there is a bridge that we need to cover, and there also is a
curfew. There are a couple of guys from the club that is going to go on a
tour with the conservation officer. So please remind our friends to ride
on this trail respectfully so we don’t lose it.

?
Meeting Nights-we
a lot of discussion on which night of the week we should have our meeting

so our meetings will still be on Saturday nights, I think this will be the
last time that we entertain this for this season

August 30, 2009 minutes
*There was no secretary’s report
*There was no treasurers’ report
*Alliance report Each club needs 2
board members, 2 delegates, and 1 alternate. We have 2 board members
which is Al and Doug Carlson. We need delegates from our club to
represent us in the alliance. Al thinks Ig wants to be one so we
need one more volunteer. Since I go to all the meetings with Al I
can be an alternate. Al has been told that the alliance will get a
groomer but not sure what kind or when it will come. The grant
money has been approved with the exception of gas– we were told to ask for
more gas than what we think we need. Also we need to keep track of
time and who is doing trail and where the trail work is done
at, this also reflects on part of the grant money, Bill also needs to turn
this info in.
*Trails-November 8 and 14 will be trail work days. We will be
working on hwy 13 we also need to connect our trail system with the snow
chasers. We would also like to mark our signs with either a
street number or name for instance hwy 13’s signs would have 13N or 13S on
them to just kind of let people know where they are. Also a
suggestion was made to have some map boxes out there saying and showing
where people are at on the trail. Nathan said that he had some
Plexiglas to donate. We also want everything to be clearly marked
for the groomer operators. We also need to figure out how to get
through the fields in Prairieburg, so if anyone has any insight on that
please share the info. Bill said he will get more stakes for signs.
*Maps-we
need someone to be in charge of the maps the Johnsons and the Beckers
volunteered.
*Safety
coarse-we would like to have a class at the end of October or the
beginning of November we like to have it at the fish and game club
in Central City I haven’t got a hold of the man in charge of renting
it out so hopefully at the meeting we will have a date
*Food
sale– took in $940 we didn’t do as well as in the past, we had a bad
location
*Flag
pole-Al made a motion for the club to purchase a flag pole to be used at
food sales and at the warming hut when we are having a club ride, fun run,
or an outing, with an estimated price of $250. Jim Jones m/s
the motioned carried.
*T-shirts-We still need to figure out what to do about t-shirts.
Would like to have some for purchase and some for other events.
*Web
site-Nathan Johnson thinks the club needs to have a web site, to let
people know what is going on and we could also post coming attractions.
The club has a face book account it seems like a lot of people has
visited the site . Al made a motion for Nathan to gather info
about a web site and also how much it will cost.
*Warming
hut-The club purchased a grain bin last year to use as a warming hut. It
is located right on the trail as you come out of the park-right by Tim and
Teresa Sacketts’ house. I think we need to come with a name
for our warming hut-Nathan also said he would make a sign, so we need to
come up with something catchy . Bill Jacobs said he would donate a
wood burner for the hut.
*The next
meeting will be on October 3rd at Bill and Pam Jacobs at 5pm. We
will be having a weenie roast so if everyone could bring a side dish to
share, your own drinks, and table service– the club will provide the hot
dogs and condiments |
